The Technophobe This person is not really at home with modern technology. The finer points of video operation, such as switching on, escape the Technophobe. When you visit you will be constantly distracted by the LED display flashing "12:00". The Technophobe uses the remote control in a very distinctive way: a) stares at the buttons for thirty seconds trying to find the channel selector, b) holds at nearly full arms length, c) presses the button as hard as possible and simultaneously lunges forward to give the infra-red rays an extra boost on their journey to the machine. Prized recordings (all courtesy of the timer control) include two hours of the test card, the middle section of Casablanca and an Open University philosophy programme. |
