Book: Plastic Viking Helmets

The Socialite This person does not visit the supermarket to buy things, but rather as a social outing. The Socialite picks up a basket, never takes a trolley, and walks round the aisles looking for anybody known to them. You must not think, however, that if no acquaintances are there the Socialite buys a chocolate bar and goes home. Oh no. To the socialite there are no strangers, only friends they have not yet met. Anybody can be, and is, accosted and engaged in conversation about the weather, the price of fish, or kids today. Eventually the Socialite will buy a bar of chocolate and go home. |
