The Remote
The Remote is only found in homes with video recorders. When you have recorded or rented a film to watch, and are about fifteen minutes into it, and the film inexplicably starts running backwards, the Remote is at work. The Remote holds the remote control and uses it for their own personal convenience to stop, start, rewind and pause films without any kind of signal. The film stops when the Remote needs a drink or the loo, and rewinds when the Remote has missed a bit of dialogue. Remotes are most frustrating when you are watching a film with a complex plot. Best dealt with by removing the batteries from the controller. Favourite films: Detective and spy stories.
