The Fashionable
This person has an almost supernatural sense of what the shops will be full of in a few weeks' time, and already has several in the wardrobe. Any old fashioned clothing (from last week for instance) is discarded in favour of the latest thing. The fashionable is the capitalist's dream; no need for built in obsolescence, since this person will throw away good commodities and buy new ones at the drop of the latest hat. This is the person who will pay an extra £20 for jeans with holes in the knees or jumpers with coffee stains on them. The Fashionable will stay in for a week rather than be seen in the streets with a watch strap which is yesterday's colour.
